Mikey Ace was born In Brooklyn NY and was active with sports growing up. He played baseball, basketball, football, hockey, track, soccor, karate and also weight lifting. He played in organized leagues. He always strived to be his best in every sport. Mike exceled in each sport winning Most Valuable Player(MVP) one year. Mike was heavily into his sports and dreamt of being a professional athlete, Until one day...
Mike was age 16 at the time he heard the song "Glycerine" from Bush on a cd and at that moment it changed his life.
He wanted to play the guitar part of the song. He achieved a lot in his life with sports, but music was something new, something intriguing.
He then started to save his money to buy a guitar. No one believed he would want to learn how to play guitar considering how active and busy he was with his sports.
But Mike was determined.
Mike was determined to be a good guitar player and practiced every day. He did not learn the traditional way, he just played by ear. Whatever he heard on a song, he tried his best to find the notes on the guitar to match what he was hearing.
Mike finally learned how to play "Gycerine" along with many other songs and started a band that would practice and gig. The band played for a few years then broke up. Though the band broke up Mike was determined to continue. He started to learn each instrument one by one so he could create his own music independently the same way when he was younger he played many sports.
Mike never gave up along the way. He focused his attention to learning music tutorials online. Youtube was one of the sites Mike visited often to advance his playing. Mike focused all his attention to learning and becoming a better Musican. He currently plays the acoustic and electric guitar, piano, keyboards, drums and sings. He also taught himself to Record music and use programs like Logic pro 9. He also studied and learned Final cut pro for video editing and Adobe Photoshop for photo editing.
Mike being an english major focuses his biggest strengths to song writing. He is very creative and expresses his feelings through music.
Mike is now founder and CEO of Mikey Ace Studios (MAS for short) an independent company of Music, Video and Photography. MAS focuses to share the love of music with the world.
